Rapid testing for milk
The Porta BHB ketone test is a semi-quantitative dip test for the detection of subclinical ketosis.
Dip the test strip in a milk sample and compare it with the color chart. The test strip changes color in the presence of BHB. The higher the concentration of BHB, the stronger the color will change.
Consequences of chronic milk disease

Instructions
Take a milk sample (small amount of all 4 quarters). Take a test strip from the package, close the bottle properly. Dip the reaction field from the test strip into the milk sample. Remove the test strip from the sample and shake off excess milk from the test strip. Wait a minute and compare the reaction field with the color chart. With a normal condition (-) you do not have to take any action. In a doubtful condition (+/-) you should provide the cow with energy for approx. 1 - 2 days. If the condition is positive (+) you must provide the cow with energy for approx. 3 - 5 days.
